He has developed his interest in ophthalmology right from his medical school atGuntur Medical College, Guntur, India, where he has passed out of medical school as a gold medallist and best out going student in ophthalmology bagging the prestigious Dr. P. Siva Reddy Endowment Medal from the Andhra PradeshAcademy of Sciences, Hyderabad, in 1993, receiving the award from the then Health Minister of the State. He has done hispost graduation from the prestigious Aravind Eye Hospital, Madurai, India, receiving his Diploma in ophthalmology from Dr M G R. Medical University, Chennai, India and later his masters’ degree in ophthalmology from National Board ofExaminations, New Delhi, India. He worked at Aravind Eye Hospital, Madurai as a consultant and later went to UK tohave exposure on the international platform. He had his exposure at various hospitals in UK, Royal Bolton Hospital,Bolton, Eye and Ear Infirmary, Manchiester, Princess Alexandra Eye Pavilion, Edinburgh, Leicester Royal Infirmary,Leicester. He is very active in providing quality eye care at Sudarsani Super Speciality Eye Hospital since 2000. He is also actively involved in doing charity work to poor patients. He is the Chairman of Avoidable Blindness of Rotarydistrict 3150 and also the Vice-President of the Indian Medical Association (IMA), Guntur
